Marsden Rock Northern Lights, shown mounted at 8x6" print (10x8" mount)

Marsden Rock Northern Lights

£12.50

A full aurora display over the rock, pillars of magenta, violet and green raking across a starry sky while the shore lights warm the stack and the weed-covered rocks below. Portrait format, the standout night frame of this coast.

Marsden Rock is a hundred-foot limestone sea stack standing just off the cliffs at Marsden, South Shields, cared for by the National Trust. Once a great arch, it split when the span collapsed in 1996, and the sea continues to carve it today. It can be reached on foot at low tide and stands fully surrounded at high water.
