Marsden Rock at Dusk
£12.50
Twilight from the clifftop, the sky graded pink and lilac into peach while a long exposure turns the high tide glassy and turquoise around the stacks. The lights of Marsden trace the coast beyond.
Marsden Rock is a hundred-foot limestone sea stack standing just off the cliffs at Marsden, South Shields, cared for by the National Trust. Once a great arch, it split when the span collapsed in 1996, and the sea continues to carve it today. It can be reached on foot at low tide and stands fully surrounded at high water.
