Herd Groyne Sunrise
£12.50
Sunrise directly behind the lighthouse, the sun laying a path of gold across a calm sea while the walkway leads in warm-lit from the corner of the frame. Both Tyne pier lighthouses sit small on the horizon either side.
The Herd Groyne lighthouse at South Shields, often likened to a 1940s spaceship on stilts, was built in 1882 at the mouth of the Tyne. Painted bright red and still in service, it continues to guide ships safely into the river.
