Frozen Holy Island

Perched on Beblowe Crag, Lindisfarne Castle was built in the 16th century using stone from the island’s former priory. Holy Island itself has been an important place of pilgrimage for more than 1,300 years and remains connected to the mainland by its famous tidal causeway.
