Bamburgh Castle in Black and White, shown mounted at 8x6" print (10x8" mount)

Bamburgh Castle in Black and White

£12.50

The castle in monochrome, side-lit under a bright sky so every tower and length of curtain wall reads crisply against the light. Shallow water across the sands doubles the whole rock in reflection. A graphic, timeless take that sits as happily in a modern room as a traditional one. Portrait format.

Bamburgh Castle is one of the great sights of the Northumberland coast, a Norman fortress standing on a basalt crag above miles of open sand and the North Sea. A stronghold since Anglo-Saxon times and rebuilt over nine centuries, it was restored by the industrialist Lord Armstrong and remains lived in today. Few buildings in England sit in a more photogenic landscape.
