St Mary's Lighthouse High Tide

Blue hour with the tide washing over the causeway, the long exposure turning the incoming water to ghosted white smoke on both sides while the tower catches the last soft pink light. Portrait format, the island becoming an island again.

St Mary's Lighthouse stands on its small tidal island just north of Whitley Bay, reached by a causeway when the tide allows. It was completed in 1898 and kept ships safe until 1984, and remains one of the best-loved landmarks on the North East coast.
