St Mary's Winter's Day

St Mary’s Lighthouse in monochrome, rising above a snow-covered promenade as dark winter clouds gather over the North Sea. Stripped of colour, the familiar coastline becomes a dramatic study of light, texture and winter weather. St Mary’s Lighthouse was completed in 1898 and remained in service until 1984. Standing on a tidal island off Whitley Bay, its distinctive white tower has watched over the North East coastline for more than a century.
