The Theatre Royal at Night
£12.50
The six Corinthian columns uplit bright white against a turbulent night sky, the portico leaning out over empty paving in a dramatic monochrome. Pure theatre, before a ticket is ever sold.
The Theatre Royal opened on Grey Street in 1837 with a performance of The Merchant of Venice. Grade I listed and one of only nine theatre buildings in England with that protection, it is often regarded as the finest theatre frontage in the country.
