The Angel of the North in the Snow
£12.50
Deep winter in black and white, the Angel seen through snow-laden birches with a ridge of snow resting along the top edge of the wing and untracked white filling the foreground. High-key, cold and hushed.
Antony Gormley's Angel of the North has stood on its hilltop beside the A1 at Gateshead since 1998 and has become one of the most recognisable artworks in Britain. It stands 20 metres tall with a wingspan of 54 metres and weighs 200 tonnes.
