The Millennium Bridge from the Air

Directly above the bridge at blue hour, the arch lit magenta and sweeping across the lower half of the frame while its curve repeats in the water. The Tyne Bridge and the rest of the stack recede small along the horizon.

Gateshead Millennium Bridge is the world's first and only tilting bridge, pivoting on its twin arches to let river traffic pass in a movement nicknamed the blinking eye. Opened in 2001, it links Newcastle's Quayside with Baltic on the Gateshead bank.
