The Millennium Bridge in Black and White
£12.50
Late night in monochrome, shot low from the north bank with the river flattened to glass so the arch and its reflection close into a perfect eye. The Sage sits dark beneath the span, every lamp a crisp starburst.
Gateshead Millennium Bridge is the world's first and only tilting bridge, pivoting on its twin arches to let river traffic pass in a movement nicknamed the blinking eye. Opened in 2001, it links Newcastle's Quayside with Baltic on the Gateshead bank.
