The Tyne Bridge Gold Colour Pop, shown mounted at 8x6" print (10x8" mount)

The Tyne Bridge Gold Colour Pop

£12.50

The Tyne Bridge from street level at night, its arch and deck sweeping overhead while every sodium lamp burns gold against the monochrome stone and steel, one bursting into a full starburst. A single car draws a white light trail through the bottom of the frame. Portrait format.

The Tyne Bridge is the most celebrated of the crossings between Newcastle and Gateshead, opened by King George V in 1928. It was built by Dorman Long of Middlesbrough, the firm that went on to build Sydney Harbour Bridge, and at its opening it was the longest single-span bridge in the world.
